Matchday: 33 live minutes

How matches stream, what you can change mid-game, and why the commentary always tells you why.

Matches involving a human manager stream live: 15 real minutes per half, a 3-minute halftime, roughly 33 minutes end to end. The match room opens 5 minutes before kickoff — lineups are editable until the whistle. Bot-vs-bot matches resolve instantly, and EVERY match stores its full timeline, so everything is replayable.

What you control live

  • Up to 5 substitutions in 3 windows (halftime is free).
  • Mentality changes and team shouts (on cooldowns).
  • Match plans set before kickoff: conditional orders like "sub Cohen at 60’ if we’re losing". If you can’t attend, your assistant executes the plan — absence is never punished, only unlived.

Why, not just what

Every event carries its cause: the high press forced the turnover, the playmaker’s vision found the run, the striker’s composure finished it. Young players can flash above their level — a ⚡ shine moment is the world telling you the kid has something.

The world plays along

  • Named referees with tendencies; big matches get the top officials, and a roaring crowd can sway a weak referee on marginal calls — never on clear ones.
  • Cup ties that end level go to real extra time and a kick-by-kick penalty shootout.
  • Attendance, atmosphere and derby heat feed home advantage — and the gate receipts.

Under it all the engine is deterministic and calibrated to real football numbers (~2.7 goals per match, upsets at real-world rates). Form and chemistry nudge — class decides. And sometimes, on the right night, the improbable happens anyway. That’s not a bug.
