Real football numbers, or it doesn’t ship

15 Jul 2026

The old game had soul. The new one had to keep the soul and earn the numbers.

The rebuilt match engine is deterministic — the same match, replayed, is identical to the byte. Every feature we add (player roles, referees, weather, form, chemistry) is pure weight modulation on top of that: it bends probabilities, it never rolls new dice. A player with no role, in clear weather, on neutral form, produces exactly the match he produced before the feature existed. Tests enforce this.

Then comes calibration. Two hundred matches with everything switched on: ~2.76 goals per match, ~79% pass accuracy, possession balanced — inside real-football bands. And the number we protect most fiercely: upsets. The weaker team still wins at close to real-world rates. Form never beats class. Chemistry never beats class. But on the right night, eleven believers beat a better team — and the engine will not flatten that, because that is the whole point of football.

The world you can see through this site — standings, headlines, the countdown on the homepage — is that engine running, unsupervised, season after season. We watch the numbers. The stories take care of themselves.
